Things Forum - a workshop with Dongni Liang
What would the plants and objects say about air quality and the environment if they could speak?
Dongni Liang invited people to join her at Netherton Library and imagine what the more-than-human objects and plants would say about our environment in Sefton if they could speak, questioning our relationship to other species and objects. Placing ourselves in their shoes, Dongni asked us questions to guide our imaginings in what they might think and feel. In this work, Dongni brings together the responses as a short video containing drawings, sculptures and voice recordings from participants with digital videos, produced using Cinema 4D software,of the objects and plants.
From lichens and moss, to laminated photos and park benches, explore the imagined worlds of our surroundings and their commentary on air quality, the workshop aims to break down the barriers which we have created between ourselves and other lifeforms.
