Library of Sounds - Aous Hamoud
Aous Hamoud worked with people over two workshops in Netherton to create a collective “library of sounds” which explore our bodies' intimate interaction with air particles and public space. During the workshops, Aous invited participants to listen, record and gather sound materials to contribute to the collective score, discussing the relationship between the spaces we inhabit and how our bodies interact with them. The “Library of Sounds” contains outdoor field recordings, experiments with different breathing techniques, and experimental scores. The video shows Aous’ process of live mixing the “library of sounds” to create an ambient soundwork. In the video, each dial relates to a different sound, and the repetitive movements of the sound levels mimic inhalation and exhalation
Our “Library of Sounds” is also available for people to download and have a go at the process themselves at home, creating their own sound piece from the files.
