For this month’s Stitch Club we’re slowing down a bit for our next adventure in stitching with some sashiko techniques. Join artist Emma Summerscales for a session marking up some sashiko designs and stitching to create beautiful patterns.

Sashiko is a Japanese stitching technique used for both decorative purposes and to reinforce points of wear in garments and as a repairing technique. Bring along a garment or bag you’d like to customise or work on a sample to use as a patch. Denim or fabric of a similar weight works best for these techniques.

For those who joined us for our cushion covers stitch sessions, there will be time to finish these over the next few sessions as well as moving on to the sashiko.
